This Privacy Policy describes how 閃視記憶 / Flashcard Memory (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application. Please read it carefully before using the App.

1. About the App

閃視記憶 / Flashcard Memory is an offline flashcard learning app for children and families. The App allows users to create, customize, and play flashcards with text, images (including OCR), and text-to-speech playback on their own device.

2. Data we do not collect

The App is designed to run fully offline and does not require registration or an account. We do not collect, store, or transmit the following information to our servers:

• No account information (no email, username, or password).
• No analytics, usage tracking, or advertising identifiers sent to a backend.
• No precise location data.
• No contact lists, calendar data, SMS, or call logs.
• No payment or credit card information (all purchases, if any, are handled by the app stores).

3. Information stored locally on your device

To provide core functionality, the App may store certain information locally on your device only. This information is not transmitted to us.

• Flashcard content you create (text, images, and categories/decks).
• App settings such as language, text-to-speech preferences, font size, and flash speed.

This local data remains on your device and is under your control. You can delete it by deleting flashcards or uninstalling the App.

4. Text-to-Speech (TTS) and system services

The App uses the text-to-speech (TTS) functionality provided by your device’s operating system to read flashcard content aloud. When you trigger TTS, the text is processed by the system’s TTS engine on the device.

Depending on your platform and system configuration, the operating system provider (such as Apple or Google) may process TTS data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not receive or store this audio or TTS processing data on our servers.

5. Camera and image usage

If you grant camera or photo library access, images are used only within the App to create or edit your flashcards.

Images and recognized text are stored locally on your device. We do not upload this content to our servers or share it with third parties.

6. Children’s privacy

閃視記憶 / Flashcard Memory is intended to be used by parents, guardians, educators, and children together. The App does not require a login and does not collect personal information from children for our own servers.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that personal information about a child has been collected and sent to us inadvertently, please contact us using the details below so we can address the issue.

7. Third-party services

At the time of this policy, the App does not integrate third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. If we add third-party services in future updates, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, request your consent.

8. Data security

Because the App operates offline and does not transmit your flashcards to our servers, your data primarily remains on your device and is protected by your device’s security features.

We still encourage you to:

• Use a secure lock screen on your device.
• Back up your device regularly if you wish to preserve your flashcard content.

9. International users

The App may be downloaded and used worldwide. Because we do not operate backend user accounts or remote storage for your flashcards, most privacy obligations relate to local storage on your device and to the app store platform that provides the App.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the App, legal requirements, or app store rules. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
